Early Start

We're up early this morning to get an early start on our weekly garage sale.

It's the first of the month so we're hoping people will have money and spend it.  We have put up some signs in different areas to hopefully attract more and different people.  The weather is beautiful so it should be a nice day for a garage sale.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Droid x phone.  I am not the most patient person thought and when I get something, I want it yesterday.  I odered it Wednesday afternoon, and it was supposed to be delivered in 2 days, so you'd think I would have had it by Friday, right?  Wrong, according to Fed Ex tracking it will be here Monday.  It sat at the Fed Ex facility in Memphis for over 24 hours!  Boy, that frustrated me!  They finally shipped it out and it went right past my house (sort of) and then south to Tallahassee!  I guess I have no choice but to wait until Monday.

Tomorrow we may take the day off  and take a drive somewhere fun.  The Goldenrod are starting to bloom and are very pretty growing wild everywhere.  They seem to be the attraction for the Monarch butterflies that gather by the coast in preparation for their annual migration south.  They have an annual Monarch Festival at St Marks National Wildlife Refuge and we have missed it every year.  Hopefully, we'll get there this year.  We know for sure we'll have to make it to St Marks in November, because Al will be eligible for his $10 senior pass that will get him in all National parks for free and give a 50% discount off camping too!  That's what I'm buying him for his birthday :)

  1. Our senior pass has paid for itself probably 150 times so far. We love it. Hope you get to see the Monarchs so you can post pictures and I can see them too.

  3. Like you, I'm not the most patient when waiting for something to arrive by courier or mail. At least now you should get it Monday. I'll be interested to hear how you like it.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. As for your question about kayaking, we're not kayakers unfortunately even though it would be a great place for it. Ocean kayaking is probably more popular here than river kayaking.

  4. What a nice birthday present for Al! Hope you made at least that much and more at the garage sale. I have about decided I have enough stuff for a small "garage sale" table at the annual flea market here in the RV Park. Seems I brought too much stuff I haven't used in the past year.

  5. Hope your sale went well today. That senior pass is fantastic. We used it several times in the first year we had it.

  6. It will take a while to qualify for the senior pass, but when we do, you can be sure we will apply for one!
