Droid X Has Arrived

Boy what an amazing little gadget!

I had to call Verizon to help me set it up because I had some changes to our account I needed made first. I was glad to have had their help because we transferred all my phone contacts over and got that part done.  We had to switch our numbers around and set up my line as the primary line to maximize the discount I get.  It was worth the call and the Verizon service reps are very knowledgeable and helpful.  That's a nice change!

The instruction manual was one sheet of paper with pretty colored pictures, but nothing really very helpful.

I just turned it on and started playing.  It's fairly intuitive, but there are so many things available that I can see still learning things in a year or two!

So far, I have changed my wallpaper (most important), taken some still and video photos, sent e-mails, gone onto the internet, checked my yahoo and gmail accounts, and downloaded some music from my laptop.

I have not even begun to think about tethering.  What I thought was going to be a simple task, is looking like more.  I figure, I'll deal with that later because right now I don't need to tether to get internet.

I will like having a phone with internet, but I can tell you I won't be doing a lot of web surfing.  The screen is okay size wise to read, but trying to type on those little buttons is a little difficult.  There is a voice recognition button you can use that works half way.

We had another surprise house showing this afternoon : )  More on that later....I gotta go play with my new toy.

  1. The first blog I checked this morning was yours to see if your Droid X had arrived. Congratulations with your new toy! You will love it and soon you will learn to type on it as well. And another house showing...it was a good day at your house.

  3. Glad to see your Droid arrived, I don't think you could have waited one more day. It won't be long before you're handling that thing like a pro!
