Zephyrhills, Florida
We did it.
We’re heading to the Florida Keys right after Christmas.
We’ll be staying on this nice little island.
I don’t think we’ll be getting one of these sites though.
We’ll be in the “cheap seats.” Probably more like these. Gosh, that motor home in the bottom left of the picture looks almost like ours! Except for the awning over the door, it could be us!
The weekly rate for prime season (winter) is $798 per week. Our two week stay would be costing us $1596, and probably more because I’m sure the 11% tax would be added on top of that. But, since we have our wonderful Thousand Trails membership, we’ll be paying a whole $42 for two weeks! Gotta love it!
We decided to cancel our stay at Hillsborough River State Park and head to the Keys right after Christmas. We’ll have to pay a cancellation fee, but that’s okay. I’m getting excited already!
Looks beautiful. That stay alone would make your membership worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is just too cool!! Good for you guys! I know you will enjoy the Keys....awesome! You just can't beat that price!!
ReplyDeleteBig Pine Key! There's a marine research laboratory there, or there was in 1977. Living was pretty primitive back then on the Key, with twice daily flushes in the dormitories. I'll bet you can flush more, though.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lovely stay, and what a steal!
You are going to have such a wonderful down in the Keys. Glad you got your reservations made.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are doing a great job of saving money on RV sites. You are going to get spoiled by staying in Key West.
ReplyDeleteI think you guys made a very wise decision, both in changing your destination AND in your Thousand Trails membership! Outstanding!! I can't wait to return to the Keys. Remember: off Matacumbe Key, head one way to Lignumvitae Key and the other direction to Indian Key and the wreck of the Don Pedro. Enjoy yourselves!!
ReplyDeleteEgads. With the price that high, we may never get there!
ReplyDeleteLooks great we stayed there last year. We had booked in the cheap seats bit the wind was unbearable so we upgraded over. It was worth it.
ReplyDeleteWOW- even I'm excited and I don't even get to be there. How DID you get that arranged. Two weeks for $42 instead of $1596. DOUBLE WOW!
ReplyDeletethat is a screaming deal!!!..whoo hooo!!..funny how the thousand trail membership here in BC is almost $5000..the american one is a much better deal!!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty exciting alright - looks like a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that one two week stay alone makes that membership deal look REAL sweet. You'll have to keep all of us posted complete with pix.
ReplyDeleteWow that is a great deal... what campground is that??? I know you'll have fun and even though you may not be on the water you're still close enough!
ReplyDeleteHave fun & Travel safe
