We Really Need to Slow Down

Blairsville, Georgia (high 79, low 58)

Our first full day back here in Blairsville, was a very busy one.  I was excited to be here and anxious to start enjoying our time, so I woke up sometime before 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep.   I enjoy early mornings drinking my coffee and reading blogs, so I got up and started my day while  Al slept in for a while longer.  Once he got up, we decided to go for a golf cart ride since it was nice and cool.  We actually put on jackets!

We had a nice ride around both Rv parks.  Our two  Rv lots are at Rivers Edge Rv Park. Next to us  is Rivers Edge II.  It’s a newer Rv park and built by the same person, so it’s very similar.   All the lots are privately owned just like they are here.  It looks different because all the trees are new and much smaller.  I’m sure in a few years it will look more like the original Rivers Edge. I don’t know why they couldn’t have come up with a different name.

When we got here last August, Rivers Edge II had very few  sold lots.  By the time we left in November, it had filled up pretty well, and now I think there are only 35 lots available out of 94.  These were brand new Rv lots.  We have been told that 10 Rv lots here in our park have re-sold this year already.  It appears that Rv lots are becoming more and more popular, at least in this area.  I’m glad we have ours, because I’m guessing the prices will be rising. There aren’t as many lots for rent now here in our park, so that should also help us rent our lots.

We had a nice ride on the golf cart and found a few rocks.  We are collecting rocks to put around the trees, so we’re always on the look out.

After the golf cart ride, we got in the hot tub for the first time this year.  It sure felt good.

After we got out of the hot tub, we decided to take bike ride.  It’s pretty level in our park, but there are some pretty good hills in the roads around the park.

We only went for a 2.5 mile ride but it felt more like 10.

By this time, we finished the bike ride it was just after 9am and time to go into town for a few necessities.  We had already had a pretty busy day, but I was on a mission for:

Flowers!!!

I love flowers and miss having them so when we’re here or at our lot in the Keys, I plant flowers. They will die when we leave, but that’s okay.  I’ll replant next year.

We have three window boxes on the cabin and I was anxious to plant some zinnias in them.

They will be prettier when they grow a little.

I still have more flowers to plant.

By the time we got back home from our errands yesterday, we had been to 6 different places, and were both pretty tired.  I was getting HOT and humid and almost felt like Tampa.  Yuck

We spent the rest of the day working around outside.  I planted some flowers and Al kept busy cleaning, organizing and fixing.

We have a full size washer and dryer in the cabin and I really enjoy them.  I like my little Splendide in the motor home, but it’s sure nice to have a full size machine again.  I’m about as excited about my big washer and dryer as I am about the hot tub or golf cart.

We’re planning on staying around home today. We had a “cold front” come through last night and it’s only supposed to be in the high 70’s today.  I hope they are right.

We’ve been amazed at all the birds.  We had hummingbirds within minutes after putting the feeder out.  It’s also bunny season.  They’re everywhere.
