Al worked all day yesterday and was gone until 6pm.
My plan had been to clean house and do some laundry, but I felt so bad all day, all I did was lay around. It was beautiful outside and I hated staying in all day. I didn’t have any nausea, cold symptoms or anything like that, I just hurt all over. I took aspirin and they didn’t work so I then took some Advil and that helped a little. I fixed myself a nutritious lunch of Brussel sprouts, onions, broccoli, and carrots….all roasted in the nuwave oven. I took vitamins and Echinacea and tried to fight it off. By late afternoon I started to feel a little better.
We watched the first episode of the new Survivor series last night and it should be a good one. One survivor was such an idiot that he made it interesting! Some people can be counted on to say something stupid every time they open their mouth!
I’m feeling better this morning, but still a little achy. Hopefully some good drugs will help and we can go kayaking. It’s just too beautiful to waste this day. We had hoped to drive up to Silver River State Park and kayak with new friends John and Carol, but it turns out it’s quite a bit further than we thought, so we’ll get together with them when we’re a little closer together.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures from previous kayak trips on the beautiful Silver River in Ocala Florida.
Notice the cute little monkeys? They were released from the park many years ago and have survived all these years. There has been talk for years about removing them, so I don’t know if they are still around or not.
Hopefully we’ll be able to do some paddling today and I’ll have more current pictures for tomorrow’s blog!
I sure hope you're feeling better... I loved Survivor last night and laughed at the outcome. He sure wasn't going to let them play the game so soon... I thought he'd never shut up!!! Loved your kayak trip and the monkeys were so cute ~ hope they are still there!

Oh Karen, I was so tickled when I saw photos of the Silver River this morning. We kayaked it in December and there were no green leaves, only one little gator, and no bugs at that time, but it was still beautiful. Hope you feel good today and I am really looking forward to your kayak photos again.
ReplyDeleteFeel better-the weather is too good to be feelin' lousy!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon and back in that kayak to take some more great pictures. That Silver River sure looked beautiful even if there may be alligators in it.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon so you can get back out there.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a virus. Taking it easy and some ibuprofen or tylenol is the way to go. I am a believer in Echinachea too. Maybe that's why you haven't gotten any other symptoms.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon and enjoy the great weather.
ReplyDeleteThe monkeys may not be native, but they have a place in the world too. We are not native either!
ReplyDeleteOhhh those little monkeys are just too cute!

OMG Those little monkeys are so cute. Hope you are feeling better. Carolyn has a kayak, but I don't think it is the model you are wanting.
