Fresh Squeezed Juice

We spent the day with Mom yesterday because she was having some heart palpitations.  We went out and got her some groceries and vitamins and I fixed her a good breakfast and lunch.  I think part of her problem is not eating right.

We got her a Nuwave oven for Christmas, and I’m trying to teach her how to use it.  It’s as easy as the microwave, so I’m hoping she’ll start using it.

The Cardiologist appointment is tomorrow, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of this and get her feeling better.

The weather has continued to be warm although it’s a bit cloudy this morning.  We’re hoping the clouds will burn off and it’ll be a nice day.  We thought about going over to Fort Desoto Beach today and taking the kayaks out.

There are orange and grapefruit trees sprinkled around the campground and one of our neighbors picked some and put a “ free” sign on them.  I love fresh off the tree grapefruit and I’m going to go squeeze some now!  Unfortunately Al can’t eat them because he’s on blood pressure medication and grapefruit interferes with the medication.  Orange juice for him I guess!

  1. Nothing better than fresh off the tree squeezed orange juice slightly chilled.

  2. Fresh squeezed juice is the best. Hope everything goes well for your Mom at the Doctors.

  3. Cholosterol medication makes grapfruit off limits too.

But I do love that fresh OJ every morning in the late winter and early spring.

We get oranges from southern California.

  4. Yummm fresh citrus! What I love when we come to Florida are the huge tomatoes at the road side stands.

Last time we were in Florida, my mom scored 6 boxes of slightly bruised or marked tomatoes--- and we spend an afternoon canning up over 80 quarts of stewed tomatoes to bring back to Wisconsin!
