Hostage to Craig’s List

Wesley Chapel, Florida

We have our Honda Crv listed on Craig’s  List.  We have only had one person come out to look at the car so far,  and they didn’t offer us enough money.

I think people are more into vacation mode this time of year, but hopefully soon there will be some people buying cars for their school bound kids.

Today, we have two different people coming to look at it.  We’re being held hostage waiting for them to get here and can’t do anything but wait.  This is not how I wanted to spend my day

Does anybody have any good suggestions on where to list the Nissan that is fully set up for towing behind a motorhome?   I would think there would be a market for people who want a toad all set up for towing?

Wish us luck with the Honda…..we’re running out of parking spaces!

  2. Well, if we were back in Lake City, you would probably have a buyer. This is Annie's idea of a dream set-up.

Just out of curiosity (because we're not in Lake City, thank the Great Duck), what are you asking for it?

    1. We don't know yet. We haven't done any research yet. Normally what we do is put it on Craig's List, start a little high and lower the price as needed.

  3. If we were still in Florida, I'd be all over your Nissan! How much are you asking for it? Maybe you could post some pictures here on your blog...

Our Prius is not able to take us everywhere we want to go and we've been talking seriously about getting a truck or a Jeep that we can tow 4-down. One that's already setup to be towed is exactly what we want.

    1. I will post some pics after we get it cleaned up. It's really dirty. I did post one picture of it on todays blog. Wish you were closer!

  4. Sorry to hear there haven't been many bites. Crossing my fingers for the two today. Having to hang around is definitely one big problem with selling things on Craig's list. I guess you could impersonate a working person and make appointments for after 6pm and on week-ends. Oppps, this is a week-end. Oh well, blame it on............well never mind.

  5. Write a blog post about it and put the year and make in the post title. Maybe Google will pick it up. Make posters and put them up in laundromats that are used by RVers. If you know if others that are within a 50 mile radius of you, design a flyer that you can post as an attachment and ask your friends to also post one in the Laundry rooms of the parks they are at.

Go to a flea market and or farmer's market and had out flyers to everyone you can. Post them at grocery stores.

The more you can get the word out the more likely you will find a buyer.

    Have patience.

  6. Put it on the RV Dreams.com forum, there is a For Sale section. That is where you might find a more targeted audience.

  7. The Escapees forum also has a For Sale thread. Like RV Dreams it will also target a specific audience.
