Zephyrhills, Florida (high 83, low 63)
We had a squall line move in late yesterday bringing some rain. Unfortunately, it also brought back the humidity. I’ll be turning the a/c back on pretty early today.
When I checked the weather yesterday it looked like we were going to get some strong wind and rain. The radar showed an ugly looking squall line heading right for us. Fortunately, it was nothing, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t do any worrying.
I know I need to get over my fear of being in a motor home in bad weather. It’s kind of hard to travel if you worry so much about the weather.
Al got his eye appointment done yesterday and everything was fine except he has droopy eyelids which are affecting his vision. There is a surgical procedure (here we go again) for that. He’s wanted that surgery for years, but it has to get bad enough first.
We went to the gym yesterday afternoon, for a while. I took it a little easy and I didn’t do anything but the bicycle and treadmill. Supposedly I was able to resume my normal activities, but I just felt straining on weight machines might not be the best idea. My eye felt a bit gritty when I put my contact in yesterday, so I ended up taking it out and wearing glasses all day….which I hate.
We came home and watched the Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn, Part One. It was good and I can’t wait for part two.
Al has a continuing education class today in Lakeland, and I plan to clean up around here. It always seems there are things to do. I have a linen closet and a few cabinets that need my attention….as well as laundry.
Speaking of laundry. I saw something funny that I know all the women will appreciate.
The park we’re in is a snowbird park and most everyone is here for the whole winter. Our neighbors own their lot and they have a clothes line, like the one below.
Apparently, he is in charge of hanging the laundry out to dry.
A while back, I noticed he went outside and hung out a load of clothes. Now, a woman would have put the “unmentionables” on an inside and towels and t-shirts on the outside, Right?
Well, when I looked over I saw all of her bra’s and panties all on the outside row, just a waving at the world!
I had to laugh. I told Al…. “I’ll bet she’s going to have a fit when she sees it.”
Sure enough, a few minutes later, he was back rearranging things and her undies were all hidden in the middle rows!
That was several weeks ago and we have never seen her undies again! I guess he learned his lesson! I wish I could have taken a picture, but I thought it might seem a little rude.
Men……..
The picture below was taken from our old back yard. One of our many Cardinals. At least the new owners also liked birds and were going to continue to feed them.
Now, a woman would have put the “unmentionables” on an inside and towels and t-shirts on the outside, Right?
ReplyDeleteLol...the thought would have never crossed my mind.
The clothesline story is a hoot!!! Loved it~ we had the air on too yesterday and got only a little rain. It sure looked like it was going to be bad.
ReplyDeleteHave fun & Travel safe

I would have to admit to the thought would have never crossed my mind also.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if you read our blog in December...but I HAD to have the surgery. My left eye had effected my site by 40%. The surgery was very easy...a few hours. I didn't even go to recovery because my doctor wakes me the patient up after he numbs the eyelids. I felt NOTHING! It did take me all of 3 months for my eyes to go down. If you can to read it, here is a link to what occurred. http://wheresweaver.blogspot.com/2011/12/on-road-to-recovery.html

ReplyDeleteWOW...thanks for the link to your blog post on that surgery. Way more involved than I thought. Al will cringe when he sees the photos. It looks like we'll need to plan some down time when he has it done.

ReplyDeleteRight! At least most women...read the Good Luck Duck today!
I don't think guys are embarrassed by much so they don't think of those things like we do. I had a clothesline when the kids were little and the one thing I never even put out on the line were my undies!
ReplyDeleteWe hung our clothes out when I was growing up and never thought about that stuff even tho the clothes line was right by the street! The undies did get stolen one time tho!!!
ReplyDeleteThat cardinal photo is just great! I know you miss them...
Did you read the books...? I was a little disappointed in the movie, but there is just no way all that detail could be put into a movie. I, like you, cannot wait for part II, but then IT'S OVER!!!!! But Rob Pattinson is good so far in any of the movies he's been in and I really like him!

ReplyDeleteHang clothes outside??? Give me the dryer every time. One of the things I didn't like about FL was all the humidity. I never got used to humidity after living 15 years in the DC area. And definitely check out Marsha's link about her eye surgery. It was fascinating to follow along with her while she had it done.
ReplyDeleteLOL...Gin just about spewed her coffee! Of course the undies dry on the inside...of the RV!

Haven't seen a clothesline in a few years so I can't remember how clothes were hung up.
ReplyDeleteI hate using a dryer. LOVE hanging them out but there are lots of parks that don't allow clothes lines. I personally don't care where my undies are hanging but since it embarrasses some folks, I try to remember to put them "in the back". :-)
ReplyDeleteGREAT story!! Poor fella. What did he know?? He doesn't care where his boxers are hanging I bet.
Oh Karen, that is hilarious and so coincidental that we posted similar-but-conflicting posts on the same day! Actually, back in New York, Annie once had a quiet but serious fit that a bit of her undies could be seen on the line, so I learned my lesson. Here on the desert, it's a whole new ball of bloomers!

P.S. I LOVE hanging clothes out so much it might be unhealthy. This is why I have to boondock!

I think there's more to be said about the underwear story. Sounds to me like...well, maybe she's a bit of a b...?
ReplyDeleteWho gives a rat's tiny behind if your unmentionables are on the outside? It's laundry! I'm pretty sure that, if that "mistake" had been pointed out to me, I'd have taken it ALL down, dropped it at her feet and said, "Go ahead there honey, you show me how it's done."
And that, would have been that.
I've been doing our laundry for, oh I don't know, 20-25 years, and there is never EVER a word about how things get washed or just how they're put up to dry.
I'm ALWAYS willing to let someone else show me just HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE.
Meanwhile, I'll be over here watching from the couch.
The hanging of "unmentionables" is a hoot. Gotta admit-it never would have crossed my(another man) mind either. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy, my ... and he learned after just one time. That in itself if amazing.
ReplyDeleteTeehee! And you are right, there's always something to be done
ReplyDeleteI dont' even permit Rick to hang the laundry when we're home..lol I'm too fussy! Items are put with same items and color co-ordinated lol...and 'undies' never went on the line....we had alot of rain yesterday and it sure was dampish today..we will run the a/c for sure tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteOnce again I learned some valuable info reading RV blogs. Actually I call it research. In 37+ yrs of marriage I have not been called upon to "hang out" the laundry. Now, if called to do so, I know there are set protocols. Thank you for sparing me the embarassment.
Men do laundry?
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting. We had our eye exams yesterday and the doc said my lids were drooping and I could get surgery to fix it. It was news to me. It does not effect my vision yet. Anneke they have always looked that way. I think she was implying goofy:( sounds like it is not that easy, so I am sure going to wait and see if it effects more than my goofy look:)
