Zephyrhills, Florida
Merry Christmas to all our blogger friends. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas, and enjoy time with your families.
We spent Christmas Eve at Mom’s house and enjoyed some of her wonderful home made pizza. We had a 30 mile drive back to our campground in the dark, but we made it safe and sound. We really hate to drive at night (I guess it’s an old person thing), and we usually avoid it.
The past few years we have had a Christmas tradition where Al and I got up early (earlier than normal) and went over to Fort DeSoto Beach to watch the sunrise and stroll along the beach. It was something we really enjoyed doing, but we decided we’d better skip it this year, since we’re heading out tomorrow and need to start readying the motorhome for travel. We’ll be getting plenty of beach sunrises in the next few weeks, so I guess we can skip this one.
We’ll head to Moms later for Christmas dinner, and then tomorrow we’ll be heading to the Keys. We are only going to travel about half way and intend to stay somewhere near the Everglades. We have a few possible campgrounds in mind, but no reservations are allowed, so we’re sure hoping there will be availability. If anyone has any suggestions for campgrounds south east of Naples, or around Homestead, please let me know.
Merry Christmas!
