In my previous post, I mentioned the mini-series, Pillars of the Earth being shown on AMC. I was incorrect. Directv is showing it on their channel 101. Sorry, my mistake.
We just started watching it last night and are already hooked, so if you get a chance, try to catch it. It's from a book by the author Ken Follett. I just ordered it for my new E-reader. It was 883 pages and only $6.99. I am enjoying the mini series so much, I know the book will go into the story more.
Try it, you'll like it. I am watching it streaming through Netflix and my Roku player.
There is no way the movie can match the book but I'm DVRing it to watch later and if you like PILLARS you will love the sequel "World without End". The third and final book of the series is coming out in 2012.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on World Without End. Somehow I missed this series. I just found out Pillars came out in 1989. The new E-book is $17.99, so I think I'll wait. By the time I finish Pillars, it will probably be cheaper. I'm sure the book is better (they always are) but I'm loving the movie so far.
Try Friday Night Lights if you haven't see it yet. I think they are on season 5. Start from the beginning. We love it!
