The fabric on our two slide toppers ripped about a year ago.
Once the fabric started to shred, Al took the fabric completely off.
We checked the prices at Camping World for replacements and they were $319.95 for the living room slide and $249.95 for the bedroom slide. The charge for installation is $79 for each topper. Their prices include all the hardware, which we didn’t need. I asked them if we could just order the fabric (for less money) but they didn’t seem to be able to do that.
Anyway, we’ve been doing without the slide toppers for a while. Al just gets up on the roof and sweeps them off before we retract them.
On the RV-Net Forum I found a place where you can order the fabric only and replace it yourself. They give detailed instructions on the installation and it’s supposed to be pretty easy. There were quite a few positive reviews from the forum, so I think we’ll go ahead and order from them. The prices are $114.95 for the bedroom and $147.95 for the living room. Of course that doesn’t include shipping. Here is the link if anyone is interested. Rv Slide Out Awning Replacement
We’re still researching the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I think we may go with the Truck System Technology. They are reasonably priced and the system monitors both high and low pressure, plus temperature. They were having a special for $399, if you called them directly vs. ordering online. I don’t know if that is still on, but we’ll have to see.
These are just a few of the things we need for the RV now and when fulltiming.
Let me know the web page address for the topper canvas, I have to replace ours this summer.
ReplyDeletePalms RV,
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant to post the link initially...it's there now. I read some posts on today's Rv-net with a few other places to get these slide out awning fabrics.
